Description

Khonsu stepped on to the permafrost of his homeland, with his new army very close to him. How long had been trapped in that dastardly volcano? Oh, the abhorrence of heat, that hath held him fast for nearly a millennium. He had finally escaped thanks to his acolyte and “queen” as she saw her self. She would be more fitting had she at least been intelligent enough to see through an illusion, that was a simple substitute.

“Ailthilim, my dearest, for saving me, thou art the nonpareil. But in thy own triumph you hath overlooked a great thing.”
Ailthilim responded trying to hide her frustration, “What did I miss, O great one?”

“Your steed is not Ageaus.” He said completely coldly and without any gloating because of his strength. “Note how the beast actually does not resist you, he is completely docile. With a descendant of Oceanus, I would presume there to be much more of a fight.”

“Then who- or what is it?” Ailthilim shrieked, dove off the mount.

“I know one way to finds out” Khonsu raised his hand over the creature, and began chanting in Archaic-Artica.

A white spider line crack formed along the beast’s forelegs and hind legs and grew to cover his entire body, until the sound of breaking glass and blinding light it exploded. The creature vanished, in its place was the head mage of the army on his hands and knees.

Khonsu spoke in his ice cold voice, “Why were you in the form of a beast?”

The Mage stood at attention, “When the transformational spell had to be re-casted, Ageaus switched his self with my own and I took the blow.”

“And you made no cry for help or attempt to stop him?”, Ailthilim interjected.

“Well I…”

Khonsu finished his sentence, “ Failed your duties to the nation. And you must be repaid for it.”

The Mage stepped back in fear. “But My lor-” in the blink of an eye, Khonsu had slowed time down with a thought and slid his blades into and out of the mage’s body. The still open-mouthed man fell down dead.

Khonsu turned to Ailthilim, “And you, had better learn to control you powers, if you cannot cast a proper Transformational spell, then I suggest you do not. It is a deceitful art anyway.”

“Yes my king” She said submissively, but with a great deal of venom on the word king.

“I have a world to conquer. Those who cannot stand with me need to be put down now.” He put his swords down and facing the army, he put his hands up and called upon the frozen land. One by one, huge icicles grew from the ground impaling the soldiers left and right.

At the end, he had decimated the army. A tenth of his army, his people he had killed without any remorse at all.

“Those whose red rivers remain in them are fit to stay, the others are a symbol of my new order. ”
The troops did not say a word. On a whim Khonsu had killed a chunk of their army, was expanding their country really worth being led under him?
