Familiar face, new style

It’s safe to say this is fairly different than what I’ve done before. I did not ink this, for the first time since… ninth grade maybe? Instead, I scanned the sketch, printed it out, and then colored right on top of it. I personally like this style better. He loses the heavy lines and consequentially some contrast, but also loses the Anime rigidity and sort of looks more realistic. One thing proportionally I have been meaning to fix for a while now was his tail, I kinda got the feeling, (and was told numerous times by many people) was too thin. I thickened it here for the first time.

I also decided he needed to lose the blue hair. I went back to brown, which was his original color, and I think it is a pretty good contrast against the teal scales. There’s the same old proportional issue here and there, but I like how this turned out, and hopefully this will be my new standard.
