Dislikes: The rebellions, the arctic wastes (before Orothan takes over), the cult of Gaia, fighting the wars on the mainlands, Carchidimos, and traitors (Ageaus perceives their to be nothing worse then a betrayer).

Personality: He is calm cool and collected on most occasions he tends to keep his temper under control unless something happens to his to his friends or to his only family, his younger sister. He is extremely defensive of both as well as his beliefs. He always upholds the Helios doctrine, a document he helped write, he acts in the order, family, friends country, god and tries to maintain the peace. While he’s had to rescue his younger sister Epiaruna many times, he always is glad to have her, she is his only family, after his parents were murdered shortly after her birth. Because of actually seeing his parents murdered he for the longest time had a barrier against showing any emotions. He eventually after talking to his sister, and later to his elf friend Ramesses, he broke that barrier and he no longer bottles his emotions up. He usually represses crying, because as a merman his tears change to pearls when the hit water.

History:
Born in the undersea Capital of Paroceanica, Ageaus d’Aquario was the scion of his family, and heir presumptive, to the Aquarian throne. Baptized in the ancient Cathedral of the Bishop of Paroceanica, he was dubbed the Enfante de Aquarius. He witnessed the enlightened rule of his mother and Father prosper for five years, until they were tragically murdered, by an nihilist, Khnemu, who in turn cursed Ageaus and his younger sister Epiaruna.

Since no direct heir could be brought to the throne, a provisional government was set up in regency for Ageaus until he was 20, headed by Arbiter Vincci. He intended on handing the power back to Ageaus when he became king and regarded himself as the d’Aqaurio regent, nothing more. He worked on keep relations peaceable with the other nations, but unfortunately he passed on about a month in office due to heart complications and was replaced by his son, Arbiter Vincci II. Unfortunately Vincci II, though a good person, was simply not as strong as his father, and disunited and disgusted with him the empire fell apart. And although he lasted for eleven years, he too died of a fatal heart attack.

Ageaus ascended to the throne at age 16, and with most of the advisors dead, he had to make decisions on his own. Before he could claim the throne, he had to come face to face with his parent’s murderer, Khnemu the one who placed a draconic curse one both he and his sister. Ageaus faced down his adversary, learning the nature of his curse after eleven years of questioning. He triumphed over the beast, but only barely and was for the first time since his infection in complete control of his body. He was coronated on the day the moon turns blue high above the ocean, seen for the first time since the patriarch of his family Aquari took the throne, a sign of a long reign.

His empire however did not reflect this glorious ascendancy. At his coronation his empire at his ascension was at sixes and sevens. The treasury was almost bankrupt from Vincci’s expenditures. In the Duchy of Gremako, the Mersharks had recently murdered their duke, and Carchidimos had taken over. In Pyreahydos a dissident Nathan was speaking out against the monarchy, with now foundation for his wild claims. Self proclaimed Warlords who had detested Vincci and his provisional government where claiming lordship over provinces and seceding left and right from the Empire. Above water provinces were browbeaten from the outside, and many were forced into the “protection” of jealous kings, Reyon in the west and Ignacio in the East. All these forces threatened an ancient Universal monarchy to fall to its knees, however Ageaus had other plans.
The first thing Ageaus did, was announce his coronation to the empire, which returned some of the falterers back to the crown. All but four provinces reasserted themselves as submissive to the Crown of Paroceanica. In Pyreahydos, a close friend of Ageaus, Pontus using a combined force of his own personally trained troops, along with hussars of the country with monetary back up from Ageaus’s own pocket, staged a coup and restored the duchy to Ageaus. Nathan was put on trial for sedition, convicted and then imprisoned, With Pontus succeeding him.

When the feral owned provinces question became apparent, Ageaus repudiated the Barrier between ferals and the classicals, by taking the feral form of his family’s herald animal, a lionfish. That movement rectified the balance between the races, and the feral lords at once decided they could trust the monarchy. In addition, The Aquarian Catholic church was extended universally in all of the Kingdoms and duchies headed by the Archbishopric each state. But each province had Religious freedom under the government of the empire, so long as the religion did not exist to harm others.(the cult of Gaia being the only religion on Helios to fall into that category.)

The only province Ageaus could not obtain so was Gremako. Through a coalition of military might Ageaus pushed back his territory to the original confinements, the bay of muclibri. Here Ageaus left him, autonomous, in a resourcesless land. Within a month Gremako became dependant on the empire for existence, but it refused to let no Mersharks in. Things got worse in Gremako, Their “duke” with his trident, took humans and began upsetting the balance between sea and bound people.


Relations: Ageaus has one living relative, his younger sister. He has however made several friendships, through both treaties and accidents both in Helios and in other worlds. He becomes especially good friends with the elf Ramesses in the forest, and they to each other as “brother” and has come to his aid, every time there has been a conflict. He welcomes all of the “sudden merfolk” to his land with open arms, those victimized by Carchidimos, (Fehrin and Ferdinand), and those form other instances, (Alpheus and Charles). His friend since childhood, Pontus while a dork and a wannabe womanizer is still a good friend to Ageaus.

On Helios he met an otherworldly dragon of light and fire named Matrix who helped him unlock his powers as Merdragon. He met a Time dragon named Prince Tatsumaru, though he asked to be called, “Ryu” who helped him tame the problem with his dragon form, on the world of Paradiso. Hr has many other friends, too numerous to mention.

Faults: His other faults are his speed, both physically and in action. He believes that the key to success is a forethought and a strong plan, these plans of his are usually effective but take quite a while to activate in full, and that leaves them open to undermining.

Power/ Forms: Ageaus is gifted with a wide amount of water and mental abilities. He like most merfolk has control over water, but his has been studied tirelessly since age 5. When he says he can control water, he means all water. He knows how to disrupt spells, and sometimes depending on the power of the spell being casted he can even send it back on the caster. He has a very disciplined telepathy, he knows how to direct it to certain people, or “broadcast” it to many. His sister tried to tech him to sing, but so far it has had very bad results. He has the ability to transform himself and others, but after his close encounter, he has not relied heavily on it. He has limited teleportation ability as well as a small amount of ice control. He has ability to shift through a number of forms, his classical merfolk, his Merdragon, his feral merfolk. He can also split his tail into legs with flippers and walk on land, but he can only remain on and for an hour, unless he uses a spell that give him a full 24 hours.
